Towards Responsible Tourism

"Towards Responsible Tourism" is a scholarly book that addresses the challenges and opportunities of tourism in Indonesia. It highlights the often inadequate consideration of the impacts of tourism on local communities and the environment by decision-makers. Through the analysis of three case studies in Bali, Yogyakarta, and Central Java, a community-based approach to tourism development is presented. The book examines the extent to which the local community is involved during the various phases of the tourism development process. It demonstrates that economic interests are often prioritized over environmental concerns, emphasizing the need for further studies to promote responsible tourism development.
