Product details

In the winter of 1976, the discovery of a dead baby in the Teufelssee causes a stir among the population of West Berlin. Everything points to an illegal abortion. Just the previous summer, the relaxation of abortion laws had sparked a discussion that is now reigniting. Chief Inspector Harry Engländer assigns the case to Inspector Peter Kappe and his colleague Wolf Landsberger. Shortly thereafter, Police Officer Achim Schubert from Mariendorf is found dead in front of the newly opened women's shelter in Grunewald – impaled on the wrought-iron fence surrounding the property. It is clear that he was pushed from the balcony of the villa. What was the man doing at the women's shelter? And who killed him? The director of the women's shelter quickly comes under suspicion from investigators. She is considered a man-hater who runs the Grunewald villa as a "fortress for women." However, there is a lack of evidence, and the other residents are not helpful in solving the case. It is only when his wife Sarah gives him a tip that Kappe suspects the murder of the police officer is connected to the dead baby from the Teufelssee.
