Jesse Gibson is on the verge of making it big as a musician. However, he suddenly finds himself in the role of guardian for his rebellious niece, who drives him to the brink of despair. This suspension puts Jesse in a tight spot as he is about to go on tour with his band. He has no choice but to take his niece with him and hire a tutor for her. This tutor is Piper Hawkins, who was actually planning to give up her profession but is desperately searching for a job to pay her bills. She is so desperate that she accepts the offer to accompany a few rock stars on their concert tour, even though she generally wants to keep her distance from musicians—especially one in particular.
