Todesstreifen

The graphic novel "Death Strip" tells the gripping story of the "Wall Warriors," four young men from Halle (Saale) who travel to West Berlin between 1986 and 1989. During this time, they experience newfound freedom but also face the indifference of society towards the injustices in the GDR and the Wall. Determined to make a statement, they throw Molotov cocktails over the Wall on June 17, 1989. This graphic novel, written and illustrated by two of the protagonists from that time, documents the journey from the idea to the actions that followed in the summer of 1989. It is a story of anger, outrage, and the quest for independence.
