Volume 1: Chapters 1–5
Death, Afterlife Processing of the Last Life, Relationship Between the Living and the Deceased
308 pages
Death is a great mystery for everyday consciousness and for today's sciences, which, due to the lack of suitable investigative methods, overlook it. However, understanding what happens in death and afterward allows us to recognize the true significance of human life and earthly destiny. Rudolf Steiner provides a wealth of precise statements based on his comprehensive clairvoyant perception, which are systematically summarized in this volume and are also comprehensible to thoughtful individuals.
In the first days after death, we receive – according to Steiner – a panoramic overview of our past life, in order to process all our earthly actions and experiences in the light of a higher reality in the following years or decades. This description addresses the relationships that the deceased have with each other, with higher beings, and with humans on Earth. If we earthly beings open ourselves to them, the deceased can provide us with essential impulses. Steiner also elaborates on ways to establish contact with them and to assist them.
Volume 2: Chapters 6–9:
Pre-Birth Existence, Reincarnation, and Karma
380 pages
After the deceased have reflected on their past life, they enter a sphere where their next incarnation is prepared. They embark on a journey through the cosmos, which they experience as animated. They do not perceive planets and stars from their physical aspect, but as colonies of high beings that provide them with spiritual archetypes.
