Tiroler Märchen

In 1857, the brothers Joseph and Ignaz Vinzenz Zingerle, who came from a well-known family of scholars in Vinschgau and were professors at Innsbruck and founders of Innsbruck German Studies, presented their collection of "Children's and House Tales from Tyrol" for the first time. It is a unique treasure of traditional folk tales similar to those of the Brothers Grimm, which were much talked about at the time, but then fell into oblivion for a long time. The well-known Tyrolean fairytale storyteller Mrs. Wolle has now dared to lift the most famous and interesting pieces of jewellery of this treasure, to carefully free them from linguistic patina and thus retell these stories full of timeless human wisdom in a contemporary form. The poetic, pictorial language is similar to the oral language, so it rolls off the tongue easily and speaks to small and large readers and listeners alike.
