The purchase of a company or the merger of two companies usually marks the beginning of a race against time. Integration projects are initiated in order to identify and realize synergies as quickly as possible and thus "earn back" the often very high purchase price quickly. Many companies concentrate all their efforts on rational and planning management activities aimed at standardizing processes or harmonizing products. The fears and time capacities of the employees are seldom taken into account with the consequence that many employees react with resistance or "burn out" due to excessive time pressure. This book develops a concept for the timing of integration projects, taking into account both perspectives, rational planning and cooperation.
