Tim Eitel

From the beginning of 2000, a young group of graduates of the Leipzig Academy of Visual Arts began to draw attention to her painting, but her painting also attracted attention. A kind of phenomenon that was quickly summarized under the name Neue Leipziger Schule. In this work, the painting of Tim Eitel is presented, who today is regarded as one of the most prominent representatives of the New Leipzig School. Tim Eitel's paintings show individual figures or groups of people, but also banal equipment and modernist architectural ensembles, figures in landscapes, at cultural locations or in urban space. There are depopulated images that seem to lack plot, drama and curiosity. The works have a tension resulting from the detailed reproduction of the subjects and the calm, almost meditative atmosphere of the scenes.
