Tilt pictures

In Kippbilder Anna Hetzer opens up stories, places, languages, goods. In her poems, they become ambiguous, tipping images of themselves: The Brothers Grimm and bazookas meet at the fairy tale fountain, a village of backdrops becomes a checkpoint, the mother tongue becomes a tongue twister that excludes and betrays. But Hetzer's poems also topple between the concrete and the abstract: still images wobble when their history is questioned, nationalism comes to the surface when accents tell of origins: says someone pollen instead of polen / the country / also remains beyond the language fence / in the mouth. Even bridges - symbols of connection - become ambivalent, places where borders become perceptible and blurred at the same time: not knowing where exactly the border is smoothed out. In the prism of her texts, "big history" disintegrates into concrete images that recompose themselves with each line.
