The protection of mother animals is highly regarded in hunting and is also enshrined in law. Responsible hunters avoid situations where young animals are orphaned, suffer developmental disadvantages without maternal care, or ultimately perish. Violating the mother animal protection law not only causes great suffering to the young animals but also casts a negative light on the entire hunting community. This work presents several ways in which hunting and animal welfare can be combined to prevent violations of the mother animal protection law in particular and animal welfare laws in general in the future.
