Three birds in rose bush

On a hot summer day in Barbarswila, a successful writer encounters the city-famous Mademoiselle Hoggh, who insists that he accompany her home because she has an exclusive story to tell him. In the salon of the stately old town house "Allhier Zum Blühenden Rosenbusch," MarieRose begins to unfold a puzzle of various episodes from a very peculiar, far-reaching family history before him. Fascinated, the author follows her narrative and gradually becomes more involved in the unfolding events. Over the course of six afternoons, he visits the hospitable Mademoiselle and notes the highly entertaining and thrilling saga of the Hoggh family of craftsmen, which spans four generations. At the center of the events is Ernst, Mademoiselle's brother, who harbors various bitter experiences as a former apprentice of master blaster Steinfels.
