'Therapie Aktiv - Diabetes im Griff'

In recent decades, there has been a significant shift from acute diseases to lifestyle-related diseases. At the same time, an increasing life expectancy has been recorded, which favors the rising prevalence of chronic diseases. Diabetes mellitus, with its globally increasing prevalence, is at the forefront of these conditions. In light of these developments, Austria introduced the disease management program called 'Therapie Aktiv - Diabetes im Griff' in 2007. What strengths and weaknesses can be identified based on the currently published state of development for this disease management program? What are the advantages and disadvantages of the program, according to the results of a quantitative survey of a defined group of doctors and patients? These and other questions are addressed in the present work.
