Travel educates. Reading does too. Observing closely, certainly. There are few other activities that invite such explicit reflection on oneself and the world around us. Questions arise, answers are sought, horizons are opened and expanded, and perspectives are sharpened. Matthias Krieg travels, reads, and observes with passion. In doing so, he discovers surprising details in world literature, both through reading and traveling with his camera. From the aesthetic connection of image and word, miniatures of new insights emerge, which he articulates week by week, enriches with theological knowledge, and places in unfamiliar contexts. Thus, 52 new weekly texts have been created, which Matthias Krieg has compiled in a second volume: as inspirations for all who wish to follow him on his intellectual journeys between photography, literature, and theology.
