Product details
Thomas Merton was initially a dandy in the New York art scene, but then retreated to the Trappist monastery of Gethsemani in Kentucky in 1941, became a monk, and subsequently became one of the most significant spiritual writers in the USA. In 1966, he received an invitation to write a preface for a planned Bible edition by Time-Life, which he did after some initial hesitation. This Time-Life Bible was never published, but Merton's preface was released posthumously and became a great success. It is presented here for the first time in German translation.
