Product details
Nothing is more practical than a good theory! For the health sciences, this is the theory of body-soul unity, which is based on the epochal biopsychosocial model. It uses General Systems Theory and overcomes the old body-soul dualism. It clarifies the relationship between matter and spirit and helps us to understand the unity of "body" and "soul": Health is the ability of the human organism to combat disease-causing factors sufficiently effectively. It must therefore be "produced" at every moment of life. Illness occurs when the human organism cannot sufficiently provide this ability and loses its functional capacity to a relevant extent. Everything mental - every thought, every feeling and every impulse to act - is always a physiological process at the same time. This also closes an almost 3,000-year circle to the occidental art of healing - in the sense of Asklepios - according to which the following should apply: Heal with all means available, with "word" (psychological factors), "medicine" (medication or chemical factors) and "knife" (technical or surgical interventions). - This model of thinking and acting opens up a scientifically founded holistic way of working in research and application, diagnostics and therapy to all health sciences and especially to human medicine. The theory of body-soul unity thus becomes the guiding idea for a scientific medicine of our century.
