Study paper from 2018 in the field of Philosophy - Practical Ethics, Aesthetics, Culture, Nature, Law, Grade: 2.0, University of Koblenz-Landau, Language: German.

Abstract: Hunting was one of the first activities that humans had to learn thousands of years ago. For most of our history, we were hunters and could only survive as such. Thus, hunting has existed almost as long as humanity itself. The term Homo Sapiens is almost automatically associated with the designation of hunter-gatherer. However, in today's Germany, we are no longer dependent on hunting, as our country has developed too much and there are plenty of other ways to obtain food or warm clothing. Nevertheless, many wild animals are still killed or at least severely injured during hunting today, and not everyone supports this. It is a contentious issue in which hunters will likely never reach an agreement with opponents of hunting, especially animal rights activists.
