The Armia Krajowa was the central force of armed resistance in the Polish underground state during World War II. It was directed by the Polish government-in-exile in London and was forcibly dissolved by the Red Army in 1944. This anthology provides a comprehensive account of the Polish Home Army since 1939 and the challenging engagement with its history. Against the backdrop of the complex ethnic and territorial situation in the region, it makes transparent not only the current state of international research but also ongoing discussions in Poland, Germany, and the successor states of the USSR.
