Product details
The activities of nursing staff in psychiatry include not only caring for the basic needs of patients and performing somatic nursing tasks but also aspects that are difficult to define and for which there is often little training in standard education. Nursing staff in psychiatry accompany patients as a team 24 hours a day, build relationships, serve as conversation partners, provide respect and recognition, set boundaries, regulate moods, demonstrate alternative behavioral options, and much more. The aim of this qualitative study through interviews is to clarify what nursing staff in forensic psychiatry do when interacting with patients and how they achieve an impact regarding patient safety, the reduction of their dangerousness, and the management of mental illnesses.
