The Leissinger Grandma

In sensitively documented family stories from the Waldviertel, reports on the use of roadside plants and their subtle differences in application and significance are described, complemented by an extensive collection of recipes. One of the most touching stories is that of little Ernstl: the story of which plant saved him in a life-threatening situation is told by Grandma Leissinger. The Waldviertel herbal educator Eunike Grahofer traveled through her homeland and documented the plant knowledge from everyday life and family traditions. This is a plant history from a time when local herbs were the only available help. It includes: 40 experiential reports, 70 different plants, and 80 recipes ranging from apple wraps to onion lard flecks.
