The target audience for the teaching material for single-manual keyboards with accompaniment automation is teenagers and young-at-heart individuals who want to learn how to use this technically versatile instrument without any practical or theoretical prior knowledge. The two authors, well-known writers and sought-after educators, aimed to convey playful skills, music theory knowledge, and the know-how for operating the accompaniment automation. Song accompaniment with fingered chords, playing in harmony, and ensemble playing are part of the learning content, along with basic musical concepts, ear training (rhythms, sounds, chords), and harmonization. In selecting the pieces, which are enriched with oldies and hits, a balance between methodological guidelines and musical demands was achieved. The keyboard course is suitable for both individual and group lessons.
