The dark in man

Based on C. G. Jung's initially biographically experienced and then scientifically further developed concepts of the unloved, the repressed, and the unlived in humans, modern shadow concepts are presented and applied from both individual and social psychological perspectives. Subsequently, psychotherapeutically relevant methods are developed to approach what the subject does not acknowledge and what continually imposes itself on them—either directly or indirectly. In these practical consequences, the proximity of the shadow concept to questions of modern philosophies and psychologies becomes evident.
