The counter-democracy

Democracy has always appeared as both a promise and a problem. Rosanvallon describes the dynamics of social appropriation of power and practices of mistrust in their contradictions. Although the democratic ideal is unreservedly affirmed, the systems that invoke the ideal are increasingly subject to criticism.
