The AfD - from a psychological perspective

Why do citizens vote for right-wing parties such as the AfD, whose policies often contradict their own interests? This book discusses psychological factors to explain this phenomenon. The main thesis is that the AfD offers apparent solutions in three central areas of conflict (economy, identity, trust). Using a wide variety of sources such as language analyses, election statistics and party programmes, the impact of the party on the electorate is analysed against the background of current psychological theories. Finally, the book also offers a pragmatic outlook on education and prevention in order to counteract right-wing populist tendencies.
