What is information? Information is a measure of form. The function of nature is the formation of information. Evolution is the design of a nature that operates through binary differences in information and shapes itself. Since the essence of evolution expresses progressiveness or increasing efficiency of form (morphological change), the identical link of all information is programmed by an increasing effectiveness of informational knowledge. Thus, only morphological change ensures the survival of form. The increase in effective informational knowledge can therefore rightly be associated with the concept of evolution. Its essence can be observed everywhere, whether in terrestrial morphogenesis or in interstellar processes. Evolution is an increasing morphological change through a rise in informational efficiency. This philosophical circular journey to the form of information illuminates the semantic concepts of entropy and evolution, as well as their physical and metaphysical impacts on the Earth system.
