A four-handed exchange between two masters of political noir: In Lyon, a German couple, former members of a left-wing extremist group, is murdered. Christine, a tough commissioner in an anti-terror unit who has just been rehabilitated after a bloody operation, finds an old photo at the crime scene: it shows her as a child with her mother, who recently committed suicide – and a "Wolfgang." In her investigations, she comes across an email from the same Wolfgang in her mother's inbox, sent shortly before her suicide. Meanwhile, near Leipzig, the house of Wolfgang and Elke on the edge of a gravel pit is about to be demolished. It’s time to unearth some relics from the past hidden in the garden, especially since Wolfgang is being heavily threatened due to his anti-fascist Twitter posts. Christine has no idea that others are on their way there that night – and that she will soon lose all control.
