Tenerife – an overview of the hiking regions: With unique routes, our travel guide allows you to experience the island like few other visitors. The northern part of the island offers lush vegetation. The coastal region appears almost tropical due to banana and avocado plantations. The Orotava Valley delights with pine forests starting at around 1,000 meters in elevation, often shrouded in mysterious fog. In the northeast, the Anaga Natural Park beckons, known as one of the wettest areas of the island. On the warmer southern side of the Anaga Mountains lies a fertile valley where exotic fruits such as mangoes and papayas are cultivated.
