How could some of humanity's most impressive structures emerge in such an archaic society? The construction of the seven great pyramids of the classical Egyptian pyramid era remains fraught with significant uncertainties to this day, despite extensive research and literature, particularly regarding surveying, stone transport, mastery of geometry, building mass, and work rhythm. The richly illustrated reconstructions presented here innovatively analyze all phases and construction sites of the pyramid program. In doing so, the author incorporates an ethnoarchaeological approach, considering the cultural context of the region's traditional architectural practices, with which he is familiar through years of project work in Yemen.
