There is little to be found in the relevant literature about contemporary aircraft construction and service. In particular, one often searches in vain for modern maintenance and repair methods. Nevertheless, new methods in the development and construction of aircraft, new manufacturing technologies, the development of new metallic and non-metallic materials, new safety philosophies, and changed maintenance concepts make it urgently necessary to address these topics. With the revision of the new edition of the specialist book "Technology of the Aircraft," the leading standard work in this sector has been brought up to date and expanded to include the topic of warning systems. The importance of warning systems is growing exponentially, as the risk of flight accidents directly correlates with the increasing number of passengers. To largely avoid these incidents, various reporting systems are being developed.
