Product details
The third volume of this book series deals with dynamics, following the exploration of structural mechanics in the first two volumes. Initially, the fundamental forms of motion (kinematics) are discussed, before addressing the causes of motion and forces (kinetics). Subsequently, general vibration theory is covered, thereby completing the dynamics based on technical mechanics. However, this book is distinguished by also addressing the fundamentals of gear theory, machine dynamics, and robotics, as these chapters are closely related to dynamics in mechanical engineering and complement important equations. The final section specifically focuses on FEM calculations (nonlinear and linear dynamics).
In the dynamics chapter, it becomes clear once again that without the theoretical foundations, there is little chance of achieving meaningful FEM calculations, especially when it comes to the differences between vibration analyses such as frequency, harmonic, modal, and transient analysis. Since these FEM calculations must be used in industry, numerous examples are solved using SolidWorks (FEM and Motion).
Particular emphasis is placed on motion analysis in SolidWorks Motion and on dynamic FEM calculations (linear and nonlinear).
