Technik und Wissenschaft als »Ideologie«

New potentials of an expanded technical control reveal the imbalance between the results of the most intense rationality and unreflected goals, rigid value systems, and outdated ideologies. The causes and consequences of this imbalance (and the possibilities for its resolution through reflection) are the subject of the present essays by Jürgen Habermas; he examines how the power of technical control can be reclaimed in the consensus of acting and negotiating citizens, and how technology, science, and democracy should be mediated under the conditions of advanced industrial society.
