Product details

According to legend, Laozi lived in the sixth century BCE. The only account of Laozi's life comes from the historian Sima Qian, who lived around 145-178 BCE. Laozi was an archivist at the royal court until he decided to leave the area. When he reached the border, he was asked to leave something in writing. He then wrote the Tao Te Ching, a text consisting of about 5,000 characters, and continued on his way.
