The publication offers an overview of the fields of prefabrication, standardised planning methods and the application of innovative construction technologies in building. Against the background of the historical classification and the requirements of building law, the status quo of new, innovative planning approaches and current system construction methods, which are realised by means of industrial production methods, is explained.
The focus of the considerations is the improvement and adequate adaptation to a changing production. In this way, both an increase in efficiency through innovative technological approaches and a high architectural quality are to be achieved in the still strongly conventional procedures in building and the associated planning processes. Using project examples from the field of housing and B&uuml,ro construction, the versatility of the approaches is demonstrated and the potentials of a systematised planning methodology oriented towards prefabrication and industrial production processes are presented.
In particular, the use of new planning tools supports a differentiation from earlier, well-known forms of standardisation and achieves an improvement in design variance through a stronger integration of digitalised design and production processes.
