Product details

Adonis, K.A. Adonis (Ali Ahmad Saïd Esber) was born in 1930 in Qassabin, Syria, but has lived in Paris since 1985. He adopted the name Adonis from the Syro-Phoenician god of vegetation to publish a poem when he was 17. Today, he continues to publish poetry, and essays are also part of his work - the pseudonym remains. Adonis studied at the universities of Damascus and Beirut and has received numerous literary awards in France, Italy, Turkey, and Lebanon. In 2001, he was awarded the Goethe Medal and in 2011, the Goethe Prize from the city of Frankfurt. In 2013, he received the Petrarca Prize, and in 2015, the Erich Maria Remarque Peace Prize from the city of Osnabrück. He is also considered a regular contender for the Nobel Prize in Literature.

Fadi Masri Zada studied engineering at the University of Damascus but discovered photography as his true passion in Paris in 1989. Back in Damascus, he was particularly inspired by the Old City, one of the oldest neighborhoods in the world, which he expressively visualizes through unique compositions. Fadi Masri Zada has received several awards, including winning the annual competition of the Syrian Photographic Art Club in 1994 and 1996. His works have been exhibited worldwide in numerous group exhibitions and five solo exhibitions to date.
