Symposium Hans Peter Tschudi – Ein Arbeits- und Sozialversicherungsrechtler mit Weitblick

Hans Peter Tschudi (1913 to 2002) is known to many primarily as a legendary Federal Councillor. During his 14 years in office (1959 to 1973), he significantly shaped Swiss politics. His impact was particularly lasting in the area of social insurance. His era includes the conception of the three-pillar system and the impressive expansion of benefits in the old-age pension scheme (AHV). The recognition of his legal contributions was the occasion for the well-attended symposium "A Labor and Social Insurance Lawyer with Vision — Symposium on the Legal Work of Professor Hans Peter Tschudi," held on May 16, 2019, at the Faculty of Law of the University of Basel. This conference proceedings contains the contributions of the speakers, a report on the stimulating panel discussion, as well as a list of his publications and the dissertations he supervised.
