Culinary journey through Switzerland, where there is much to discover and enjoy. The shared heritage in pots and on plates is owed by Swiss men and women to the poverty of their working ancestors: the farmers, the herders, the laborers, and the day laborers. The simple dishes were mostly passed down from mothers to daughters. What ended up on the table depended on what was available, influenced by the luck of the harvest and the season.
