Oelde

Oelde, first mentioned in the Werden land register at the end of the 9th century as "Ulithi in Dreingau," is today home to about 30,000 people, including its districts Stromberg, Lette, and Sünninghausen. The proverbial Westphalian down-to-earthness and cosmopolitanism are not contradictory in the rural surroundings; rather, they complement each other, as evidenced by the numerous successful companies, some of which operate globally, that are based in Oelde.
