Müllheim in Baden

Since time immemorial, Müllheim, which once grew from the two places Ober- and Untermüllen, has been the center of the Markgräfler wine region. The name, however, originates from the many mills that once lined the Klemmbach. For the 200th anniversary of Müllheim's city rights, Jan Merk, the director of the Markgräfler Museum, has selected around 150 engravings, drawings, historical postcards, and photographs from the museum's archive and private collections. He illustrates the development of the town from a manageable winegrower and mill town in the 19th century to the present day. The focus is on fascinating images of houses, parks, streets, and squares that showcase the transformation of the city's architecture and its growth from 1810 to 2010. This illustrated book invites readers on a journey through over two hundred years of Müllheim's city history.
