Hersfeld through the ages

This book showcases a selection of the work of three generations of photographers from the Bingel family in Bad Hersfeld. The photos, taken between 1900 and 1970, depict the town as a spa resort, an industrial city, and a center for tourism. Public figures from various fields such as culture and business are featured alongside ordinary residents of Hersfeld in their daily lives. Long-gone times come to life, when Hersfeld was still a small, tranquil place with a population of 10,000. After the war, this number more than tripled.
