Product details

The opening of the Montafonerbahn from Bludenz to Schruns on December 18, 1905, led to a significant improvement in mobility in the upper Ill valley. Thanks to several power plant constructions and large industrial enterprises, as well as the rapidly growing winter tourism, the region has been increasingly developed in terms of transportation. Since then, the Montafonerbahn has formed the backbone of public transport in the area. Peter Strasser, already known to many readers through his photo book "Schruns around 1920" and numerous other publications, documents the history of transportation in Montafon with over 200 mostly unpublished photos from public and private archives. These illustrate the more than 100-year development of the Montafonerbahn and provide insights into factory railways, rolling roads, cable cars, lifts, bus lines, and even shipping in the valley. This book not only makes hearts race.
