SURPRISE - Die Kunst der Monotypie

"SURPRISE - The Art of Monotype" is a comprehensive non-fiction book that explores the fascinating technique of monotype. This art form, which represents a unique combination of painting, drawing, and printmaking, has a long history dating back to the 17th century. The book showcases a variety of monotypes by international artists and highlights the different facets of this technique. As part of the exhibition project at the Municipal Gallery of Wolfsburg, which took place from April to August 2022, numerous works were created in the print workshop at Wolfsburg Castle. Monotype challenges artists to quickly realize their ideas and immortalize their artistic signature in a printed image. The collection includes significant works by modern artists as well as contemporary creators and offers a deep insight into the development and possibilities of this special printing technique.
