Product details

The most famous collection of poems by Thomas Brasch (1945-2001) was published in 1980. That same year, he was awarded the FAZ Prize for Literature, with the following justification: "In The Beautiful 27th of September, Thomas Brasch combines tenderness and elegiac eroticism with sobriety and strict social criticism. These verses, which are characterized by both high musicality and sharp intellectuality, contribute to the renewal of traditional forms of German poetry, particularly the song and the ballad, and establish Thomas Brasch as the poetic voice of his generation." Peter Schneider expressed it more personally: "Here begins someone who is influenced by many ways of speaking and masters many, fully listening to his own voice and writing himself into a day, an hour, a moment; as seen in the title poem 'The Beautiful 27th of September'.".
