Product details

Oswald Egger, originally from South Tyrol and now living in Vienna, is a collector of words at the birthplace of poetry (born 1963). He listens to the sound of things, uncovers their archaeological connections, and weaves them into a poetic universe, where individual parts merge into a whole, creating a resonant space that transcends the boundaries of language and seeks to go beyond them. Precision and imagination meet in the verse. In the month of weaving, intoxicated by light beneath brick and tent, you shall eat crab-apricots. In the moonless month, you will peel marcasite, ginger, and bitter things from the Strähl hearth; colocynth, light pebbles, camphor, and galangal, and flake fruits will overshadow the good fan-leaf facets during the Dost months. And you shall eat turmeric pumpkins, Palmyra, my actions swirl around, bark, skin, milk-fast quince blossoms.
