The "Bargfelder Edition. Supplements" offers a deep insight into the work and personality of Arno Schmidt. This edition includes a DVD with three television interviews in which Schmidt explains his writing technique and his relationship with Karl May. Additionally, it contains over five hours of audio material featuring Schmidt as an outstanding reader of his own stories and essays. A radio lecture, in which he entertainingly discusses his main work "Zettel's Traum," complements the offering. Private recordings of conversations between the Schmidt couple and Spiegel editor Gunnar Ortlepp provide insights into the domestic atmosphere of the Bargfeld refuge. A supplementary volume gathers all newspaper interviews and surveys, as well as transcripts of television and radio interviews. This media edition shows how the 'solipsist in the heath' wanted to present himself to the public.
