Existing therapy programmes for addicted and mentally ill parents largely lack parent- and family-specific topics. The STAERKE therapy programme (addiction therapy acute programme for resource-oriented competence strengthening in parenting), which can be used on an outpatient and inpatient basis, is aimed at (expectant) parents with an addiction disorder or harmful substance use. It aims to strengthen parents in their parenting skills and at the same time in their ability to abstain. The topics of the self-contained modules are: Mindfulness, relaxation and skills training, stress and emotion regulation, parenting skills, children's basic needs and development, communication in the family.
