For Judith Malory and her cousin Jacqueline it is time to find a husband. Accompanied by Jacqueline's father, they set off on the long ship journey to Connecticut. Whereby Judith certainly doesn't have the sense of a man for life - rather a little variety. The attractive ship's labourer Nathan is just what she needs. When she discovers his dark secret, she thinks she has him in her hand. Against his will, Nathan gets involved in a cat-and-mouse game with the reckless Judith. But then the Malorys run into great danger. Will brave Nathan save the cousins? And will Judith follow her heart, which may yet beat for Nathan?
