Information about the series: studio d - Switzerland is aimed at adult learners with no prior knowledge or only limited knowledge of the German language and leads to level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference as well as the Zertifikat Deutsch across three volumes. The Swiss edition conveys the standard German spoken in Switzerland and takes into account the specific features of vocabulary and spelling. The cultural topics present a current and diverse picture of Switzerland. studio d meets all the requirements of a modern teaching resource: transparent implementation of learning objectives aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference, integration of professional scenarios, and representation of job profiles, numerous exercises for automating situational phrases and for fluent speaking, as well as consistent pronunciation training from the very beginning.
Course and exercise books: The course and exercise books A1 and A2 are divided into twelve units with thematic and grammatical progression. The B1 volume contains ten units. The exercise section follows immediately after each course book unit and concludes with an overview page titled "What I can do in German." In transparent learning sequences, studio d offers tasks and exercises for all skills (listening, reading, writing, speaking). Learners will learn to navigate everyday situations linguistically, understand and write simple spoken and written texts. The development of grammatical structures is tied to topics and language actions that correspond to their communicative needs. The presentation and arrangement of exercises are designed to promote discovery learning and help learners recognize, understand, and apply linguistic structures. In the stations, there are materials that allow for the repetition, deepening, and expansion of the content from the units. An appendix includes a model test for each exam (A1, A2, B1) as well as a grammar overview.
