Doping in the GDR: The study has now become a historical document in its own right. It depicts actions that disregard human dignity and rules, which could only be reconstructed after 1990 through systematic archival research and countless interviews with witnesses. The report published in 1998 as part of the research project "The Control of Sports and Sports Science by the Ministry for State Security" was funded by research grants from the Federal Institute for Sports Science. In the fourth edition, new findings, particularly regarding doping-related damage or the role of VEB Jenapharm, have been added.
