During the GDR era, the long-distance road 96 was a "road of dreams." Those traveling on it towards Berlin and the Baltic Sea could indulge in a bit of dreaming - about another life and great freedom. But what do people along the B96 dream of today? Raphael Thelen and Thomas Victor set out to find out and traveled over 570 kilometers from deep Saxony through Hoyerswerda, Berlin, and Stralsund to the Baltic Sea in Rügen. The people they met along the way are very different from what common stereotypes suggest.
