Wolfgang Herrndorf did not want unfinished, incomplete, or entirely unpublished works from his estate to be published. In his will, he stipulated that such works should be destroyed. The heirs have adhered to this. However, there are a number of texts that had already found their way into the public eye during Herrndorf's lifetime, whether printed in obscure places, shared through readings, or, most importantly, digitally: Herrndorf was a member of the internet forum "Wir höflichen Paparazzi," a collective of independent thinkers and creative individuals, from which well-known authors like Kathrin Passig, Klaus Cäsar Zehrer, and Christian Y. Schmidt have emerged. The forum was, as Tex Rubinowitz puts it, "a hardcore Stalinist writing school." And everyone who was involved agrees: Wolf was the strictest when it came to evaluating both his own and others' texts.
