Depression. Das Richtige tun

Every year, 5.3 million Germans suffer from depression. This serious mental illness can have a significant impact on relatives and friends. They are often left with many questions: Can I help, and if so, how? What exactly is depression? How do I address my concerns? How can I help without sacrificing my own well-being? Solutions from therapeutic practice are presented, common therapies are described, and suitable points of contact are mentioned. In six chapters, the necessary steps are explained, and the phases of healing are outlined: from the essential background knowledge needed to recognize the type of depression, to examining one’s own expectations and current relationship with the affected person, and finally to mindful self-awareness, where boundaries are clearly defined to maintain one’s own physical and mental health. This way, it is possible to provide strength and support to those affected on their journey out of depression, and ultimately to develop shared future perspectives.
